Every SG8 model — from the online-exclusive DL-1 to the camera-equipped Sports Series flagship — is built on the same underlying platform. What changes model to model is the frame, the materials, the camera (on two models), and the water-resistance rating — not the audio, the AI, or how the glasses are fitted.
The SG8 Companion App
Every SG8 model pairs with the free SG8 app — real-time translation, walkie-talkie, Voice AI, turn-by-turn Navigator, automatic media sync, and Around.

Open-ear Bluetooth audio
Bluetooth 5.4 with dual stereo speakers (15–15.4mm) mounted in the temple, left open at the ear rather than sealed like earbuds — calls, music and voice AI stay available without ever blocking out traffic, conversation, or the room.
- 3.7V / 100mAh battery per temple (D&U carries two — one per detachable temple)
- ~6 hrs playback at 80% volume on fixed-temple models; ~7 hrs on D&U’s dual-battery temple
- Charging nod at the temple, full charge in ≤ 2 hours

Photochromic lenses
All five models use Transitions® photochromic lenses that adjust automatically to changing light — clear indoors, darkening in sunlight — so the glasses double as everyday eyewear and sunglasses with no lens swap.

Camera (Camera Series & Sports Series)
Two of the five models add an ultra-wide camera, offered in an 8MP or 13MP tier, recording video up to 4K at 30fps or Full HD at 60fps. Footage syncs automatically to the SG8 app, organized by day, with no manual transfer step.

Rx-ready, optician-fitted design
SG8 is built to be sold and fitted through optical retail, not consumer electronics channels. Every model supports prescription lenses, dispensed by a licensed optician the same way as any premium frame — the smart hardware in the temple never has to be modified or touched.
- DL-1, CA-series and SP-series: an included additional Rx insert frame
- D&U: prescription support built into the interchangeable front-frame design itself
- PL-1: Rx supported directly, dispensed like any premium frame

Water resistance
DL-1, PL-1 and D&U carry an IP65 rating, suitable for everyday weather and light rain. The Sports Series steps up to IP66, the highest rating in the line, for its role as an outdoor, high-activity flagship.
